    Where it goes: merge this into .claude/settings.json in your repo (or ~/.claude/settings.json for all projects). If you already have a "hooks" block, add these entries into it. Events: PreToolUse can block an action; PostToolUse runs after; Stop fires when Claude finishes; UserPromptSubmit runs on each prompt. The matcher targets tools (e.g. Edit|Write, Bash).
